Talking about recreating Vande Mataram, music Director Bickram Ghosh stated “It’s a complete honour to work on the recreation of our national song, the words of which still gives a shiver to every Indian even after so many years of independence! The recreation of song that already has so many versions of itself, was a bit challenging, as the aim was to deliver something new in an old box. Nirmalya did an outstanding job in voicing the song. It was a pleasure to work with the entire music team as I have seen them investing their 100 percent passion and dedication in this journey of creating Golondaaj’s music. Vande Mataram is a passion project will remain the most special work of my life".
The ensemble cast of Golondaaj comprising of Dev, John Bhattacharya and others along with Director Dhrubo Banerjee were present at the “Vande Mataram” song launch event yesterday, who exclusively shared their experience about the making of the song and the significance of recreating it. This Pujo, SVF integrates with North Tridhara, the renowned Durga Pujo Association of North Kolkata, to honour the extraordinary life and unsung heroic contributions of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari in the field of sports. This collaboration with North Tridhara Pujo Association has taken “Golondaaj” to a whole new level of reaching to a thousand of audiences!
Commenting on this collaboration, Dev said “It is an honour to play a larger-than-life character like Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari and bring his marvellous story on screen. It is great that North Tridhara has given us one more medium to celebrate his magnificent contribution in a grand scale and this initiative will make every Bengali aware of him”.SVF and Dhrubo Banerjee’s Magnum Opus will surely evoke nationalism in every Indian through the inspirational and exceptional story of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari who brought a storm to the Indian Sports Culture by defeating the finest British team of East Surrey regiment in 1892 which was unthinkable at that time. He was the founder of strings of football clubs in Calcutta which also includes The Wellington Club and Sovabazar Club. On
the contrary, he fought for the lower caste players of that time who were not allowed to play, as he believed that a sporting ground is beyond any prejudice.
The main initiative of SVF to integrate with North Tridhara Puja is to create a much-
deserved recognition among people about India’s Unsung Hero who brought a revolution in Indian Football Culture and his massive contribution to Indian Sports History. As Durga Puja and Football are very dear to Bengalis, there couldn’t have been any better way to bring
both of these emotions together in the same tray. The trailer of the film, that’s already streaming on SVF’s social media platforms, has garnered huge positive responses from the audience right from the moment of release. And the song “Vande Mataram” will be a treat for the audience who are eagerly waiting for the release of “Golondaaj” on 10th October 2021.
