The bengal times news - SVF and Camellia Production reveals the poster for ‘Byomkesh Hotyamancha’ based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s incomplete story
Abir Chatterjee is pulling off the quick-witted Byomkesh Bakshi again, so is Sohini Sarkar returning as the quintessential Satyabati, the significant other of the sleuth hound.
The poster of the film narrates the plot of 1971’s Naxalite insurgency when Byomkesh decides to attend a play at the theatre and becomes witness to a crime unfolding on the center stage. Along with Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar, the very talented and versatile Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen portraying the character of Byomkesh’s iconic confidant and writer Ajit. Paoli Dam will be seen in an integral role along with Kinjal, Arna Mukhopadhyay. And how the mystery is laid bare for Byomkesh to solve.
The music for the film will be accomplished by maestro Bickram Ghosh.
Director Arindam Sil, positive about the casting of the film goes on to say, "Byomkesh Hotyamancha” has the most phenomenal cast that any Byomkesh film has ever witnessed. With my new Byomkesh film, I am looking forward to showcase the both political and cultural commentary on Bengal of 1971 and this will be the most intriguing film in the entire Byomkesh series. ”
The film is set to release on 11th August.
